How to get ready

The day before
- Get a normal night of sleep. Turning up tired makes the day drag.
- Start drinking water the day before. Hydrated skin takes ink better.
- No alcohol and no recreational drugs for 24 hours. Both thin the blood, and the more you bleed the less ink stays in.
- No aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours either, for the same reason. Acetaminophen is fine. Do not stop anything a doctor prescribed you. Tell me about it instead.
- Check the area we are tattooing. If it is sunburned, peeling, irritated, broken or has a rash, message me before you come in. I will not tattoo through it.
- A fresh tan changes how the work reads against your skin, so tell me about one before the day.
Eat before you arrive
Have a proper meal before the session. For longer appointments, bring water and a simple snack you already know sits well with you.
Dress for the placement
- Wear clean, loose clothing that gives easy access to the area.
- Choose something comfortable enough to sit or lie in for a while.
- Wear something dark. Ink and stencil marks get on clothes.
Leave the skin alone
Arrive clean and skip lotion on the area that day. Do not shave the placement unless we agreed on it beforehand. If you want to use a numbing product, ask me first.
Bring what you need
- Your photo ID and the references we discussed.
- Headphones, a charger and something quiet for a longer session.
- Any questions you still have about the design, placement or healing.
Tell me before the session
Message me if you are unwell, if the skin has changed, or if a health condition or medication could affect tattooing or healing. Do not stop prescribed medication for a tattoo. Ask your healthcare provider if you are unsure whether it is safe for you.
